FIRST FRIDAY

DECEMBER 6TH

6 - 8 PM at The Crow’s Foot Gallery

I’m so excited to present a solo show for Mio Streitberger. I hope you can come down to the gallery Friday night and meet him. I have selected a few oil canvases from the collection of decades of work that Mio has created. Here is a wonderful opportunity to begin or add to your personal art collection with a skilled painter. I feel honored to have “discovered” his work and show it.

To quote Mio…

Freedom of expression in art, whether through landscapes or figures, religious or abstract, has been and continues to be an important part of the human need. I paint the feeling I see in humanity: the simplicity, the sadness, the unity, the relationships and the betrayals. Using color, shapes and form, I try to express the hope that humanity wants to believe in, the love it seeks, but does not have… and then it does.

I will be displaying the selected works until December 18th. All pieces are for sale.

Back to the hard work of Creativity and Art...

I had big plans for communication and development while on my travels. Unfortunately, I failed to take along my charging cable with my laptop so it became an exercise item only, adding weight to my movement from place to place.

I am excited to get back to work. I took many photographs and had interactions with people in a part of the world that is much different than the places I’ve lived. I have a broader reference now as I consider my views and opinions.

I look forward to starting up art classes! As of now, I have two times I am offering, with me as the teacher. They will be basic concepts of art and design taught with a variety of mediums. For example, the first class will discuss rules of composition using photography and drawing. We will also be painting, printmaking, sculpting and playing with encaustic. I am happy to be flexible in the curriculum, adjusting to interest. The cost for daytime classes will only be $10. Evening classes will cost more once I get those set up. I will also be looking to bring in other artists as guest teachers.

Wednesdays 1 - 2:30 pm

Thursdays 4:30 - 6 pm

Please email me if you are interested so I can have your contact information. g3thecrowsfoot@gmail.com

Let it begin...

I am happy to invite you to the Grand Opening of The Crow’s Foot Gallery and Studio. Come to the lovely historic downtown Albany and explore the great shops and restaurants, ride the Carousel, and come visit me on the corner of 3rd and Broadalbin.

The Grand Opening is Friday, August 2nd, 2019 from 5-8pm

My regular shop hours will be Tuesday thru Friday 11-6 and Saturday 9-noon or you can contact me ahead of time and we can make an appointed time for you to come and I will open the shop for you. Also, it is my creative studio so I will likely be there other times working. If I’m there, I’m open. Come on in.

I will be organizing some art classes and parties in the future so keep checking for those. Send me your suggestions for classes you’d like to take. Or if you’re an artist and interested in teaching but need a space, I’m happy to host.

I’ve been asked the origin of the name for the Gallery…. Well, when I was a little kid growing up on a farm in Willamina, Oregon, I was fasciated by the lines and scars gained through life by my elders in the community. They were signs of strength and character and often some really entertaining stories. Hands and faces were my favorite. I desperately wanted the happy crow’s feet wrinkles around my eyes, so I would sit in front of the mirror and try to encourage the creases to develop. I wasn’t successful as a 5 or 10 or even 18 year old. Now that I have passed the 40 mark, I’m starting to see those lines form. I decided that I need to make sure they are happy ones. So I overhauled my life. I challenged my perceptions of what was most important and where I fit. I discovered Mary Oliver and her writing changed my life. “I want to be improbable and beautiful and afraid of nothing as though I had wings.” … “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” I’ve unpacked all my art supplies and found a studio space that just happens to have one of the best locations and natural lighting for a gallery I could hope for. So… here I am, opening a gallery and spending time every day trying to create a visual representation of what’s going on in my mind and heart. I’m excited that I have the space to extend that opportunity to other artists and get their stories and talents out there for more people to see and appreciate. I have been a stay-at-home mom and I get watch my kids grow into wonderful humans. I’m ready to extend my circle and get to know more wonderful humans, learn different cultures and beliefs and backgrounds and personalities, and explore art.

Come into The Crow’s Foot. Come talk with me. Look around. Write or draw in my sketchbook. I have hands-on art. Sign up for a class or book a party. Tap into my WiFi and chill on the couch for a bit. Have a cup of tea. It’s a great atmosphere that is dying for company. And if you happen to find a piece of art that wants to go home with you, I’m happy to help.
